- Financial Literacy Workshops: We hosted a series of financial literacy workshops covering topics like budgeting, saving, and investing. These workshops were designed to provide practical skills and knowledge to help people manage their finances effectively. Participants learned how to create a budget, understand credit scores, and make informed investment decisions. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees expressing that they felt more confident in their ability to handle their finances. We plan to continue offering these workshops regularly to reach as many people as possible and empower them with the financial tools they need. Looking ahead, we're exploring partnerships with local schools and community organizations to expand our reach and offer tailored workshops to specific groups. Our goal is to make financial education accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of their background or current financial situation. By providing the knowledge and skills necessary for financial success, we hope to contribute to a more prosperous and financially resilient community for all. The next workshop is scheduled for July 15th at the Jamestown Community Center, focusing on retirement planning. Be sure to register in advance, as space is limited!
- Community Clean-Up Day: Our members volunteered for a community clean-up day, helping to tidy up local parks and public spaces. It was a fantastic opportunity to give back to our community and work together towards a cleaner, more beautiful Jamestown. We collected several bags of trash and recyclables and enhanced the overall appearance of our neighborhood. This event not only helped improve the physical environment but also fostered a sense of community pride and responsibility. Seeing so many people come together to make a difference was truly inspiring. We believe that small acts of service can have a big impact, and we are committed to continuing to support our community through initiatives like this. We're already planning our next clean-up day for the fall, and we hope to see even more volunteers join us! We're also exploring other ways to contribute to the beautification of our community, such as planting trees and flowers in public spaces. By working together, we can make Jamestown a place we are all proud to call home. Plus, it was a fun way to bond with fellow credit union enthusiasts!
- Scholarship Awards: We proudly awarded scholarships to several deserving students from the Jamestown area. These scholarships will help them pursue their higher education goals and achieve their dreams. We believe that investing in education is one of the best ways to support the future of our community, and we are honored to be able to help these students on their academic journeys. The recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, community involvement, and financial need. We were impressed by the caliber of the applicants and inspired by their dedication and aspirations. We wish them all the best as they embark on their college careers. We also want to thank our members and sponsors who made these scholarships possible through their generous contributions. Their support is essential to our ability to continue this program and help deserving students achieve their educational goals. We plan to continue offering scholarships each year and hope to expand the program in the future to reach even more students. Applications for next year's scholarships will be available on our website in January, so stay tuned for more information.

- Interest Rates: The Federal Reserve recently announced that it will be holding interest rates steady for the time being. This means that borrowing costs will remain stable for consumers and businesses. However, it's important to keep an eye on interest rates as they can impact your savings, investments, and loan payments. We'll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
- Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity remains a top priority for credit unions. With the increasing threat of cyberattacks, it's essential to take steps to protect your personal and financial information. We encourage you to use strong passwords, be wary of phishing emails, and regularly monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity. We are committed to safeguarding your data and have implemented robust security measures to protect against cyber threats. We also provide resources and information to help you stay safe online.
- New Regulations: There are several new regulations on the horizon that could impact credit unions. We are closely monitoring these developments and will provide updates as they become available. We are committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations and ensuring that our members are informed of any changes that may affect them.
- Automate your savings: Set up automatic transfers from your checking account to your savings account each month. This is an easy way to save money without even thinking about it.
- Review your budget regularly: Take some time each month to review your budget and make sure you're on track. This will help you identify areas where you can cut back on spending and save more money.
