    What is OSCOSC Jamestown SCSC?

The acronym stands for the Organization of South Carolina State Credit Unions, Jamestown Chapter of the South Carolina State Credit Union. Basically, we are a collective of credit unions in the Jamestown area dedicated to promoting financial literacy, community development, and collaboration among credit unions. We work together to support our members, provide educational resources, and contribute to the overall economic well-being of our community. Our primary goal is to enhance the financial health of our members and the wider community through education, cooperation, and service. This includes initiatives like financial literacy workshops, community outreach programs, and collaborative projects among member credit unions.     We've been super busy these past few months with a variety of events and activities aimed at benefiting our members and the community. Let's recap some of the highlights:

    • Financial Literacy Workshops: We hosted a series of financial literacy workshops covering topics like budgeting, saving, and investing. These workshops were designed to provide practical skills and knowledge to help people manage their finances effectively. Participants learned how to create a budget, understand credit scores, and make informed investment decisions. We collected several bags of trash and recyclables and enhanced the overall appearance of our neighborhood.     • Scholarship Awards: We proudly awarded scholarships to several deserving students from the Jamestown area. These scholarships will help them pursue their higher education goals and achieve their dreams. We believe that investing in education is one of the best ways to support the future of our community, and we are honored to be able to help these students on their academic journeys. The recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, community involvement, and financial need. We were impressed by the caliber of the applicants and inspired by their dedication and aspirations. We wish them all the best as they embark on their college careers. We also want to thank our members and sponsors who made these scholarships possible through their generous contributions. We plan to continue offering scholarships each year and hope to expand the program in the future to reach even more students.
